On the roof of the company building in Haarlem near Amsterdam, solar power is converted to electricity in an area of 388 square meters – this corresponds to approximately one and a half tennis courts. In winter, the system generates 1,000 to 2,000 kilowatt-hours and during the warm summer season up to 6,000 kilowatt-hours per month. This provides around two thirds of the required energy. And there are other signs for sustainability in Haarlem: under the leadership of Danny van Eeckhout, the subsidiary is currently looking for options to recycle the elastic materials used in Bauerfeind products and for cooperating with clients to reduce transport.
