Gera now ready to knit

All preparations have been made for the production of flat-knit compression stockings in Gera, Germany: in addition to the 5th floor in Keplerstraße 35, employees are now also moving into the 6th floor. This floor will feature offices, a room for orthosis manufacture, another sewing hall – and a large knitting hall where preparations are in full flow at the moment: eleven knitting machines are currently being transferred from Zeulenroda to Gera by the Technical Systems Team, and set up there. The lymphology manufacture team “GLK1” (Gera Lymphologie Konfektion 1) will produce VenoTrain curaflow and VenoTrain delight. The team’s seamstresses and tailors are already working in Gera. GLK1 will initially be supplemented by four knitters who will operate the machines in Gera after their induction phase in Zeulenroda – another four women and men will then also join the team. Belinda Hornke coordinates the production of the flat-knit compression stockings:

VenoTrain curaflow will be produced at both sites in the future. The production of VenoTrain delight will be fully moved from Zeulenroda to Gera – the same applies to the production of additional orthoses, such as CaligaLoc, ValguLoc I+II, and GenuLoc. Owing to the location change of the products, there are also changes happening in Zeulenroda: the production capacities that are being freed up will mainly be used for the manufacture of the supports from the new b:joynz product line. Additionally, space is required for Bauerfeind Sports in Zeulenroda because demand continually increases for these products.
