This is Herbie

May we present: Herbie. Herbie has been living and working on the Gera company premises since March 2025. He is known as diligent and reliable. Find out in Herbie’s profile why he’s so popular with his colleagues.

 

Profile: Herbie

Name: Herbie

Occupation: driverless transport system

Age: five months

Short description: Herbie takes boxes with raw materials and finished goods from A to B. Markings on the floor specify his route.

Residence: Gera, Business Park Keplerstraße 24/26

Area of employment: Gera Cutting Knitting Team 1 (GZS1) and Gera Sports Products 1 (GSP1)

Size: 50 cm wide x 83 cm long x 92 cm high   

Maximum speed: 4 km/h

Strength: Herbie travels long distances every day. His colleagues therefore have to walk less. He effortlessly transports small material containers up to 35 kg.

Safety features: Herbie scans barcodes marked on the floor and then reduces speed before corners or doors for example.

Maintenance requirements: Herbie works two shifts per day. He hardly needs any maintenance.

Simon Wittmann and Herbie. Simon has recently also started to support Herbie’s sister Hildegard.

Family: 

Herbie’sbest friend is Simon Wittmann, Industrial Engineer. He planned and implemented the markings on the floor covering about 250 meters, and he’s always there for Herbie. Herbie’s sister Hildegard has also moved to Gera – she works for the Gera Orthoses Manufacture Team 1 (GOK1). She will soon make deliveries for two teams because the team Gera Orthoses Manufacture 2 (GOK2) will shortly move to Keplerstraße 24/26.
