New trainee apartment
Three rooms, two trainees, one shared accommodation
Barely two kilometers from Triebeser Straße 16 on the fourth floor of a recently built apartment block, two young Bauerfeind newcomers have found a new home where they have been living since January 2020. This is a first for the two trainees Lena and Christoph as well as for Bauerfeind because the apartment was rented specially for trainees late last year.
Five months from idea to moving in

The apartment covers 101 square meters and is a project conceived by the HR Department. The rental contract was taken out in November 2019. The idea is to attract trainees from farther afield because young people often depend on public transport and don’t have driving licenses. Thanks to the trainee apartment, nothing stands in the way of completing an apprenticeship with Bauerfeind. This is the case for Christoph Le Clerc, the first to move in.
A tour of the rooms
Despite the change, Christoph is happy in his new home. On entering the apartment, there is a corridor and, leading off it, a spacious bathroom and three bedrooms. The bedroom on the right is his private domain. Like the other rooms, it is equipped with a bed, a wardrobe, and a desk. The large, comfortable kitchen-diner is located straight ahead, at the end of the corridor. It features a dining table, kitchen unit, couch, and a small TV table with a TV, game console, and music system. Christoph’s bicycle, which he uses to get to work every day, leans on the column that supports the room at its center. Lena arrived shortly after Christoph at the end of January. She describes living in shared accommodation as follows: “We know each other from school, so we know what makes the other person tick. We have dedicated chores, so it works quite well.”
Lena (18) underwent training to become a machine and system operator. She moved in at the end of January, and is also from Triptis. She successfully completed her training in July and was employed by Bauerfeind. Congratulations!
A project with a future
The journey to work is just as short as to the store, and the rent is subsidized by Bauerfeind. This means that the third bedroom has also been taken: another newcomer to Bauerfeind has taken the opportunity to move in with Lena and Christoph temporarily. Daniel Wagner from the HR Department explains: “We are open to inquiries and will continue our trainee apartment project in the future, too.” Trainees can notify him of their interest.
