News about Bauerfeind in Gera

Bauerfeind is expanding production in Gera. Additional production space is currently being obtained in Keplerstraße Business Park.Discussions are still taking place with the city of Gera to build a new facility.

“The demand for Bauerfeind products is increasing, so we’re always looking for new employees in all our locations. We’re pleased to announce that we’re also growing in Gera, and are currently expanding our capacities in Keplerstraße Business Park by renting additional space,” explains Andreas Lauth, Chief Technical Officer.

The facilities are located at Keplerstraße 24, about 800 meters from the location opened in 2019 at Keplerstraße 35. At the moment, the team “Gera Orthoses Manufacture 3” (GOK 3) is moving into the third floor. The plan is for the team “Gera Orthoses Manufacture 4” (GOK 4) to move into the fourth floor at Keplerstraße 24. In total, 3,200 square meters of production space is being added.

There are still plans to build a new facility in Gera. “We need suitable space from the city where we can build and where commercial use is possible,” Andreas Lauth explains, specifying criteria that play a crucial role when choosing a site. “We’re looking for a very large site because we have long-term plans for our growth in Gera. We also have to be within easy reach for everyone. We need suitable infrastructure for this, such as good road connections, enough parking, and reliable connections to public transport,” explains Andreas Lauth and he emphasizes: “For a large project of this kind, we always check several options and sites before we make a decision.”
