June 10, 2021: Update Bauerfeind AG

Dear Colleagues,

In many places, we can see that social life is starting again and the mood is brightening. People are looking forward to being together with their friends and families, traveling without restrictions and taking long-awaited vacations. This means there are good reasons to be optimistic, as our coronavirus news ticker demonstrates with reports from various Bauerfeind subsidiaries. All the same, we should not be deceived by this generally favorable situation: Coronavirus is pervasive, the virus is still proliferating in some parts of the world – and infections occur simply from contact. So we should all remain cautious while enjoying our “new freedoms”.

Sincerely,

Rainer Berthan

Chief Executive Officer

Newsticker

+++ Infections: There is currently one reported case in the entire company. +++

+++ Production and logistics: The very strict measures (e.g. strict separation of teams, shift handover not continuous) will be relaxed gradually as long as no serious coronavirus activity is reported. +++

+++ Rules concerning working from home in Germany: These remain in place as before and will not change until June 30, 2021; until that date, the SARS-CoV-2 Occupational Safety and Health Regulation still applies in Germany. +++

+++ Vaccination in Germany: Starting this week, company medical officers will be involved in the vaccination process. Bauerfeind would like to enable employees to receive their first and second vaccine doses from the company medical officers. Since the vaccine is only available in limited, allocated quantities, this offer initially applies for the area of the supply chain and areas related to the supply chain. +++

+++ Adriatic region: The employees at the Adria subsidiary are returning to “business as usual” as of June 7th. This means that the obligation of working from home is lifted and teams are no longer required to work separately from one another. Another piece of good news: 50 percent of the team is already fully vaccinated. +++

+++ Switzerland: Almost 50 percent of the workforce at our subsidiary in Switzerland is vaccinated. The epidemiological situation in the country continues to ease and more employees are able to work from the office. +++

+++ Singapore: Unfortunately, the coronavirus situation in the physically smallest country of southeast Asia has worsened: as a result, schools and restaurants have been closed again and private meetings are only permitted with a maximum of 2 people. Home office is again compulsory in Singapore, wherever possible, also for our colleagues.+++

+++ Japan: On June 15, our established partner “Pacific Supply” will open the first Bauerfeind flagship store in Japan. The shop is located in Tokyo. Due to the current coronavirus situation, this opening will be a combined on-site and online event and can be watched live on YouTube. +++
