Based on current information, the Tokyo Summer Olympics will take place, despite all the obstacles the COVID-19 pandemic has created. From July 15, 2021, Bauerfeind will support the event as a partner of the Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (OCOG) by treating the Olympic and Paralympic athletes of all nations when needed and in cases of injury. This will require around 8,000 products, which were already packed in April by colleagues from the Sports Marketing and Logistics Teams to ensure they will arrive in Japan on time. They are currently on their way to Tokyo by sea. According to Jörg Ritzerfeld, Bauerfeind Sports Marketing Manager, preparations have so far gone smoothly, despite the unusual circumstances: “Over time, this has become well-coordinated teamwork between Logistics, Export, the Academy and other departments as well as Project Organization.
