Secure passwords protect against attacks
New Password Guidelines

From now on, new Password Guidelines apply for all Bauerfeind employees. Michael Illgen, Systems Administrator/Networks, explains why this issue is important for all of us.
Why are there new guidelines?
The partial failure of our IT systems in January showed how important technology is for the entire company. We need IT systems for practically every job in our business in order to produce and deliver. Attacks are increasing. That’s why we have to protect ourselves as effectively as we can, for example by using secure passwords.
What do Bauerfeind employees have to keep in mind?
First of all, that every single one of us plays an important role when it comes to protecting our IT systems. Even the best precautions won’t be effective if your access data is taped on your keyboard or screen. Passwords must always be treated as confidential. Use a different password for each service, and do not include information from your professional or private life. Also check carefully whether the URL is correct or if a phishing email has forwarded you to a fake site.
We all forget our login data sometimes. What advice do you have for that?
Use passphrases that combine letters, numbers, and special characters, such as “I will remember th4t .” or “1 blue Golf rolls.” Or use a password manager such as KeePass that generates secure passwords for each service.
