For Bauerfeind at the world's largest hiking event
Martin Staffa

Martin Staffa has been working as a Content Manager for Bauerfeind Sports in the B2C E-Commerce Department since 2024. In mid July, he represented Bauerfeind in the biggest hiking event in the world, the 4Daagse in Nijmegen. Exercise has a very high priority for him both in his professional and private life – and Martin’s career also “moves you”.
What exactly do you do for Bauerfeind?
I work in the B2C E-Commerce Team as a Content Manager. That means I’m responsible for all content on the Bauerfeind Sports pages in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, and Italy. In addition to administration and optimization, I also create new posts. I can leverage my skills as a photographer here as well. For a lot of posts, I’m the entire editing team in one person. I research topics, create concepts, implement them in writing and with images, and turn everything into a post in the end. Topics like SEO and maintenance are also included in my responsibilities.
What have your biggest sporting challenges been?
The Bleilochlauf Ultra Run with 50 kilometers and 1,200 meters cumulative elevation gain is definitely one of them. But the long-distance triathlon in Roth was also extremely demanding. Last year, I took part in an ultra bicycle race for the first time. During the Race around the Netherlands, I cycled 2,000 kilometers in seven and a half days. In hindsight, this has so far been the biggest challenge for me from a physical and mental perspective.
How come you’re so sporty?
I only got into sports late in life. When I was in my mid 20s and I lived in Leipzig, Fixies became a trend (bicycles with a fixed gear). I whizzed around town on one of them but soon realized that I quickly ran out of steam. At the same time, I moved in with some others who really prioritized exercise. We signed up to a triathlon together, so I got into the world of sports more and more. In order to keep my coordination at a high level, too, I juggle and slackline.
What insights do you gain for your work from sports?
“Motion is Life” – you can’t put it in a nutshell better than that. Because I had several accidents before my time at Bauerfeind, I know exactly how it feels when you can’t move without restrictions. At Bauerfeind, we help people every day to feel better, and we’re giving them back a huge amount of freedom.
