Between steam and fabric, and with care
The SV Team packages up quality products to be sent out into the world
This is where everything is finalized: The Packaging Team (SV) in Zeulenroda is the last port-of-call before our products leave Hall 2 and head for the Logistics Department. 30 employees from ten countries make sure that every single detail is correct in the end – and to do this, they have to be able to follow different packaging methods.

Freshly dyed circular knit products are still warm when they arrive from the Dyeing Department – ready for the next step. The Packaging Team then checks seams, surfaces, and colors with trained eyes. Every action has been perfected. Focused, a well-oiled machine, with a clear objective: top quality products ready to be shipped out.
During everyday operations, the Packaging Team plays a central role in the production chain because it performs the final quality inspection for circular knit products. That’s why the team keeps a close eye: Team members recognize discrepancies early and resolutely weed them out.
The Packaging Team checks the goods and carefully prepares them for the warehouse. They are then dried correctly, allocated to the relevant production orders, neatly positioned, packaged, and clearly labeled. Thanks to clear procedures and a lot of care, the team ensures that all products can be shipped on time and in a flawless condition. For Team Leader Ron Möbius, this is the greatest challenge: “In our department, it’s primarily about striking the right balance between quality, punctuality, and efficiency.”

Packaging Team Leader – Ron Möbius
Ron Möbius is a trained Facility Technician for sanitary, heating and air-conditioning technology. He previously worked in various companies as a Facility Technician, Shift Supervisor, and Production Manager. His last position was Production Manager in solar panel production. Born in Langenwetzendorf, Möbius has been managing the Packaging Team since July 2024 and really appreciates his work at Bauerfeind: “What I enjoy most about my job is the huge variety every day. No two days are alike at Bauerfeind – we face new challenges every day, be it from technical faults that occur every now and then or many new orders coming in at the same time. Plus, we’re constantly optimizing our processes. It’s this dynamic nature that makes my work particularly exciting.”
A versatile team, wide-ranging tasks
The Packaging Team consists of 30 employees from ten countries working in two shifts and, if required, sometimes in three shifts. Every single day, they prepare thousands of units – primarily manually. “Almost every product is packaged in a different way. There’s a comprehensive error catalog we have to be familiar with. New colleagues are often surprised how complex our work is – because it’s not “simply” about putting a stocking in a box, but a demanding process,” Shift Supervisor Sandra Eydt explains.

Dexterity and care are crucial
Ron Möbius puts it in a nutshell: “Our work doesn’t seem like much but it requires a lot of attention and manual dexterity. Every step has been clearly specified.” Sarah Eydt can confirm this: “Absolute focus is essential. You mustn’t be easily distracted. It’s also important to read the production orders carefully and to understand them. There are a lot of abbreviations involved, every order is customized – that demands precision and experience.”
Looking ahead: The future in the Packaging Team
When it comes to further developing the department, efficiency and sustainability are priorities. Ron Möbius elaborates: “We’ve been able to optimize a lot of processes over the past years, for example, we’re now using new energy-efficient driers. They save up to 40% electricity because they recover energy. We’re hoping to automate even further in the future, for example, when it comes to packaging and labeling. We can then make processes even more efficient, reduce strain on our employees, and ensure the consistently high quality of our products at the same time.”
Ron Möbius looks at upcoming challenges with confidence because he knows his team is right by his side: “I’m really proud of my team. I’m particularly impressed by the knowledge of our long-standing colleagues who are still teaching me a thing or two.”
