Packing for the Olympics
57 pallets on their way to Italy

On February 6, the Olympic Winter Games will begin in Italy. For Bauerfeind, this marks the largest Olympic deployment in the company’s history. The reason: the Winter Games will be held in a decentralized format across six regions in northern Italy. Many of our teams will be on site to support the athletes and therefore require products and materials to set up their respective polyclinics.

The large-scale packing team in Outbound Logistics in Zeulenroda was therefore given a special assignment – for six locations. The colleagues had to pack more pallets than ever before for a Bauerfeind Olympic deployment. “Yes, this is quite a challenge, also in terms of space,” confirms the team leader. “But the team is well structured,” she emphasizes.
Structure, as well as good coordination and team spirit, were essential to keep everything under control. After all, it’s not “just” more than 6,000 products that need to be shipped to Italy, but also furniture, orthopedic technical tools, and printed materials such as business cards. And not to forget the grinding machine for Cortina d’Ampezzo.
In the end, a total of 57 pallets were loaded onto trucks on Tuesday and are now on their way to the six locations. Specifically, Bauerfeind will be represented with larger service stations in Milan, Livigno, and Cortina d’Ampezzo. Smaller service stations will be set up in Antholz, Predazzo, and Bormio.
