What will it be called? You decide!

The search for a new name is in the final stages: After formal and legal checks, three favorites have emerged. Which name will get the most votes and represent our intranet in the future? Your vote will decide!

The enormous response to our naming competition has thrilled the Intranet Project Team: 264 suggestions were submitted.

Many suggestions incorporated the “B” or “BF” for Bauerfeind, such as B:One, Plan B, or BMotion. Many suggestions like BlueNet, BlueLine, or BlueClue referred to the Bauerfeind colors. There were also numerous neologisms that we loved. Intraknit, Sockial Network, or BEAT (Bauerfeind Employees and Teams) were particularly memorable. We checked all suggestions to make sure they fulfilled the criteria of the naming competition: The name needed to be short, easy to understand, suitable for international use, and connected to Bauerfeind. This was followed by a legal review. Our Legal Department checked in particular whether naming or trademark rights held by other companies could be infringed by any potential external use. The legal review revealed that we’re not able to consider many names that would apply to us:

For B:One, for example, there was a total of 317,000 hits for registered brands. Intraknit, on the other hand, is a registered brand relating to knitted functional textiles and therefore quite similar to our own brand. For BEAT, there were almost 33,000 brand registrations with unrelated as well as related product types, including orthopedic joint supports.
