Felice anniversario

In Milan, the second-largest city of Italy, 19 employees currently work for Bauerfeind Italy. And 2022 is truly a special year for the team: an anniversary year. The subsidiary has been in operation for 30 years now. Launched in 1992 with a handful of employees, the company grew significantly as it developed over the years – in a market that works entirely differently from the German market. "In Italy, there is no reimbursement, only free sale of medical products. For this reason, customers need to be addressed in a totally different way," explains Carlo Sabato, Managing Director of Bauerfeind Italy since 2014.

When Carlo Sabato realized in 2014 that Bauerfeind had very good products but there was room for improvement when it came to customer approach and market coverage, he developed his own unique vision. Together with the team, he launched the action plan which reconciled the requirements of a dynamic market environment with changing customer needs. An increasing frequency of visitors and new sales regions, the first professional marketing materials and the development of the digital division triggered a significant upswing for the subsidiary.  Until 2014, only the north of the country was covered as a sales region, but this has since expanded to 90% of Italy – a good reason to celebrate.

In October, Bauerfeind Italy will celebrate its anniversary during the International Meeting together with the other subsidiaries as well as colleagues from Germany. According to Carlo Sabato, the plan is for "something really big." But it's all top-secret still! "We would like to thank all our colleagues, it is an enormous honor for all of us to meet up in Italy," Carlo Sabato remarks in anticipation of the event.
