"Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind retires"

Dear Colleagues,

Our “Nahtlos” Magazine topics prove the following: over the past weeks and months, at Bauerfeind, we have successfully accomplished many projects together. The company premises in Gera are being further expanded. Bauerfeind is present at events again – the biggest industry meeting, the OTWorld, is imminent from May 10 to 13. In short: Bauerfeind business is developing very well. You have probably noticed that our esteemed Prof. Hans B. Bauerfeind has not expressed his opinion on current events recently as usual. He has observed the pleasing developments, but has not appeared much in the company or in public. The reason for this is his health, and now – at the age of 81 – Prof. Bauerfeind is fully retiring. He has been active in the family-run business since 1962, since 1972 as CEO. You have had the privilege to witness how Prof. Bauerfeind turned the small business founded by his grandfather in 1929 into a global player which he now knows is in good hands. The Executive Board and Supervisory Board have full responsibility for the Bauerfeind corporate group now more than ever. I am pleased to tell you that continuity is guaranteed: Rainer Berthan’s contract for the role of Chief Executive Officer has been extended until the end of 2026. The current structure of the Supervisory Board will remain the same, even after Prof. Bauerfeind has left. I assure you: as also happened in an exemplary way over the past two and a half years through the crisis, the Supervisory Board and the Executive Board will continue to work closely together and do everything in mutual exchange to successfully manage and develop our company.

Kind regards

Prof. Rainer Kirchdörfer
Acting Chairman of the Supervisory Board at Bauerfeind AG
