New Bauerfeind Flagship Store in Athens

Greece

Despite the extended lockdown in Greece, our Greek distributor Kyritsis is investing in the refurbishment of its main store in Athens. Kyritsis Orthopaedics is located on the three-lane Mesogion Street in the trendy district of Chalandri, on the first floor of an elegant three-story building.

The shop owned by distributor Vasilis L. Kyritsis underwent complete modernization and now offers Bauerfeind products on a quarter of the overall available area of X square meters. The cheaper secondary brand, named after his daughter Artemide, does not get its own display area. Vasilis’ explanation: “An alternative is important to provide confidence in a purchase. Once customers have experienced the look and feel of a Bauerfeind product, they will not want to switch to the less comfortable solution. That’s why we’re hiding the cheap alternative behind closed doors.”

The company founder’s grandson is also involved: in addition to reopening the flagship store, he launched a separate online shop – achieving increasing sales despite the crisis. Vasilis’ customers include many of Athens’ “rich and famous”. Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis visited the shop in 2019 to get a GenuTrain for his knee*.

Tip:

If you plan on going on vacation to Athens and its surrounding areas soon, you should definitely include a visit to Kyritsis Orthopaedics (297 Mesogion Street, 15231 Chalandri). The hospitable Greeks are happy about every Bauerfeind visitor and provide a traditional welcome with coffee and cake.
