The Bauerfeind team is well prepared

Ready, set, go: the Olympic Games are starting

On July 23, the Olympic Games will start in Tokyo, but our first colleagues have been over there since the beginning of the month. They have set up our treatment area in the polyclinic, trained physicians and physical therapists from different countries in the use of our products and even cared for the first athletes. The following pictures show the team’s first days.

On July 7, 2021, Tobias Scheer (Marketing Manager), Mattis Hohmann (Expert Orthotist) and Andreas Limbach (Head of Measurement Technology and Expert Orthopedic Shoemaker) were the first of our colleagues traveling to Tokyo to set up the Bauerfeind service station.

People arrive in the Olympic Village in small shuttles. In the mornings and evenings, when it’s not quite so hot (temperatures at midday reach around 40 degrees), people also walk or cycle.
Together, they set up the service station, comprising a treatment area of 68 m² within the polyclinic.

Before the first athletes arrived, physicians and physical therapists from different countries were trained in the use of our products and treatment options.

In addition to a grinding machine, we also have a Bodytronic measurement system. This means that athletes can be measured quickly and easily while strictly complying with all distancing and hygiene rules. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) as well as all physicians and therapists particularly appreciated this option.

The first athletes have already been treated, such as the Canadian softball player Erika Polidori.

Our German colleagues are being supported by Mikio, Kanae and Masato from our Japanese distributor, Pacific Supply. These three orthotists are a huge help in our service station and also support the team as interpreters.

Pacific Supply recently opened the first Bauerfeind shop in Tokyo.

In the Bauerfeind shop, sports products as well as medical devices are available without a prescription.
