A successful trade show appearance

OTWorld 2022

From 10th to 13th May, orthotists, orthopedic shoe-makers, physicians, and physical therapists from 86 countries met in Leipzig on the occasion of the international specialist trade show OTWorld. Bauerfeind was represented on four event days, manning a booth of around 500 square meters and offering a versatile program.

The highlight of the week was the appearance by Dirk Nowitzki. Rainer Berthan, our Chief Executive Officer (CEO), welcomed the Brand Ambassador together with presenter Anett Sattler. According to the motto: “As long as you stay green and curious, you’re growing but as soon as you sit down on the couch, you’ll start to decay,” said Dirk Nowitzki, looking back on his long career.

Prof. Dr. med. Heinrich Hess (middle), one of the inventors of the GenuTrain knee support, was honored with the René Baumgartner Award for outstanding achievements in technical and medical orthopedics. Actor and author Samuel Koch offered insights into his everyday life and experiences with medical retail stores. He answered the question where he gets his strength from by saying: “I’m not alone, I haven’t been alone, I’ve always had wonderful people around me – first and foremost my family and friends.”

On the market since 2021 and in the center of attention on Thursday afternoon: the CoxaTrain hip orthosis. Talking to patient Evelyn Weiß, Prof. Dr. Stefan Sell said about treating osteoarthritis of the hip: “If the CoxaTrain is worn regularly, the effects will be surprisingly positive.”

Colleagues from eleven countries also met at the trade show for an international meeting. They discussed current events in the countries and developments in the product areas, and, of course, had a look around the OTWorld.
