Our Team in Tokio
Who will be representing Bauerfeind?

On July 7, 2021, Tobias Scheer (Marketing Manager), Mattis Hohmann (Orthotist), and Andreas Limbach (Head of Measurement Technology and Expert Orthotist) will be the first of our colleagues traveling to Tokyo to set up the Bauerfeind service station. Their Japanese colleague Mikio Shida will support them. The Olympic Village will open its gates on July 13, 2021. That is when our technicians will be ready to help in the polyclinic.
The team includes a total of 18 men and women from Germany, Spain, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Japan for the Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Jörg Ritzerfeld (38), Project Manager
Tokyo will be the fifth time the former ski jumper will be at the Olympic Games for Bauerfeind. During these Summer Olympics, he will be responsible for the all organization/coordination and communication as the Project Manager. Jörg will be in Tokyo from July 24 until August 12.

Tobias Scheer (35), Marketing Manager Sport
This is the first time Tobias will take part in the Olympic Games. He will support Jörg in his project management role and be involved in the organization on site. Our three Marketing colleagues (Jörg, Tobias, and Miryam) will also have to fulfill the role of COVID-19 Liaison Officer (CLO) at these Olympic Games. As CLO, they will be responsible for ensuring that all specified coronavirus measures are complied with and that all team members are tested regularly. Tobias will be in Tokyo with Andreas, Mattis, Mikio, Maximilian, and Dirk from July 10 to 29, and hand over the organizational baton to Jörg on July 29.

Andreas Limbach (41), Expert Orthopedic Shoemaker
Andreas will be representing Bauerfeind at the Olympic Games for the second time. He will fly out to Tokyo with Tobias and Mattis on July 7 and will stay there until July 29. The Head of Measurement Technology is also responsible for the set-up and commissioning of the Bodytronic system. He will share shifts with Dirk, Mattis, and Maximilian before handing over the baton to Marius just before his departure on July 29.

Mattis Hohmann (30), Orthotist
This is the first time Mattis will take part in the Olympic Games. He will with travel to Tokyo with Andreas and Tobias. Before the polyclinic opens in the Olympic Village, he will train physicians and physical therapists in the use of our products. Mattis will be working with Dirk, Andreas, and Maximilian until July 29.

Mikio Shida (33), Orthotist
Mikio works for our Japanese distributor Pacific Supply and will be supporting our team in the polyclinic from July 10 to 18. He will be working with Mattis, Andreas, and Tobias. In addition to the orthotist’s technical knowledge, his linguistic skills will also come in handy: he will often provide valuable help as an interpreter.

Dirk Schwager (53), Expert Orthotist
This will be Dirk’s sixth Olympic Games, making him the most experienced technician. He will be in Tokyo from July 17 to August 2. Dirk will work in shifts with Maximilian, Mattis, and Andreas. Previously, in addition to other tasks, he managed the selection and training of all technicians working at the Olympic Games.

Maximilian Poetzschner (33), Orthopedic Shoemaker
These are Maximilian’s second Olympic Games working for Bauerfeind. He will arrive in the Olympic Village on July 22 and work with Dirk, Mattis, and Andreas until August 12. He will be in Tokyo for 21 days, making his stay the longest of all the Bauerfeind technicians. Afterwards, he will fly straight to Atlanta for an appointment with our US subsidiary.

Miryam Mühlbach (26), Marketing Manager Sport
This is the first time Miryam will take part in the Paralympic Games. She will also be supporting Jörg in his project management role during the Olympic Games, and will then be involved with the organization of the Paralympic Games. Miryam will coordinate the dismantling and return of our measurement technology as well as any products that will not be required in Tokyo. She will be working from August 27 to 10 September.

Stefan Schlegel (55), Area Manager Foot Orthopedics
Like Kai and Sven, Stefan is a field sales representative for Bauerfeind in Team 8, region Bayern. He will be in Tokyo from August 27. He will take over Kai’s shift on August 29 and will continue his work until September 10. He will then share shifts with Alexander.
