From five to 300 employees
Bauerfeind is growing in Gera

From five to 300 employees in just a few years: The Gera site has developed into an integral component of Bauerfeind’s corporate structure over the past years. Recent arrival Nicole Becker was the 300th employee to join the team in Gera – a true milestone! There are plans for further investments.
In 2019, five employees started at Keplerstraße Business Park. The 300th employee recently started there: Nicole Becker. The 41-year-old manufactures orthoses for the shoulders and thumbs. Part of the GOK 1 Team (Gera Orthosis Production 1), she currently welds the Velcro fastenings and the logo for the OmoLoc, and has become familiar with various product groups and assemblies in just a short time.
Like many of her colleagues, Nicole Becker has joined Bauerfeind as a career changer. She previously worked as a receptionist in a medical practice, and before that, at Fujifilm’s digital printing facility in Gera, which was closed in 2020.
She feels at home with Bauerfeind: “I like the atmosphere here as well as the feeling that I’ve achieved a lot after my early or late shift when my boxes are full.” The mother of two is also thrilled by the long-term prospects at Bauerfeind in Gera: “I can really grow here and always learn something new. I would like to stay at Bauerfeind until I retire.”

Lars Eulitz, Site Manager, who has supported the development of the company premises from the beginning, is extremely happy that 300 people are now employed at the site. “At the Gera site, we want to make a long-term and sound contribution to the company’s success. That’s why we’re investing in state-of-the-art technologies to increase efficiency and in a strong workforce so we can make a long-term and sound contribution to the company’s success here at the Gera site.”
In 2025, new production areas were opened up at building number 24/26, and the raw materials warehouse was set up there. Furthermore, a new substation was installed to safeguard the future energy supply. For the coming months, there are plans for further investments in the buildings: Façades, windows, elevators, and some production areas have been highlighted for modernization.
