Energy Center

Construction is now beginning on the interior fittings of the Energy Center. Most of the plant technology is already on site, for example new buffer storage tanks (pictured on the left) that are considerably larger than all previous models at the location. We can also see the heating and cooling distributors which distribute the capacities at our site. Connecting the new media to the existing buildings requires numerous construction measures. “We are making good progress on connecting existing buildings,” says Project Manager David Eichhorn. The media line, i.e. the connection to the existing buildings, should be finished by September.
Campus

What looks like an elongated swimming pool on the north side of the company grounds is actually an overflow canal. The basin for this structure was delivered in the early morning hours on July, 14 and installed using a crane. This acts like a large cistern, to put it simply. We will need this in the future because considerably more rain water will be collected by the new buildings than before. The overflow canal first collects this water and then passes it on to the drainage system in a controlled manner.
To ensure that existing wastewater lines can be extended and adjusted, the tower parking lot also had to make room.
And the topsoil in the new campus area is currently being excavated, straightened and improved. A calcareous mixture is being added to the subsoil to ensure the future stability of the buildings.
Central Logistics
At first, the heat wave and rain posed obstacles to the activities: But in early July, the ground slab for the new shuttle storage system was cast. On the slab, a small machine that looks like an automatic lawnmower is taking measurements for the steel structure. This will be constructed starting in late July.
