Bauerfeind is growing and has ambitious goals for the long term. In order to fulfil this rising demand even in the future, it is increasingly important to recruit new employees at all three German locations.
The additional challenge for Daniel Wagner, head of the recruiting team and thus responsible for personnel recruitment: Many employees are entering their well-deserved retirement in the coming years. He has also observed a shift in the applicant market. “In Zeulenroda, we have nearly 100% rates of employment. This means that very few people are applying to us through the job center; instead, they are coming to us from the private sector. As a result, we need to attract much more attention and approach applicants more actively than before.”
For recruiters, this means a “digital first” approach, since target groups can now be addressed in a highly individual manner through job portals, advertising on websites and in social media. The team also attends trade fairs, relies on poster advertisements and ad placements in the regional press and cooperates with nearby schools and associations to draw the attention of young talent to jobs within the company. With the “Employees recruiting employees” initiatives, the team also relies on the internal network. In two years, more than one hundred new colleagues have already been hired through recommendations.
