Measurement technology manual as bed-time reading
Franziska Bube, Germany

Franziska Bube (formerly Wunn) was working as the Regional Field Sales Manager in the very south of Germany between Lake Starnberg and Chiemsee until late 2020. This is a region where medical retailers hardly employed 3D measurement technology at all in the past. In the last year alone, Franziska was able to convince five medical retailers to install and use our 3D body scanners – even including the overall 100th Bodytronic 610 at the medical retailer Piegsa in Geretsried. From this year onwards, her motto is ‘all about Rhine and Ruhr’ – because alongside her home, Franziska has also changed her sales region and now consults Quality Partners and physicians in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Was it particularly easy for you to fill customers with enthusiasm for our 3D measurement technology in the last year because of the pandemic?
Actually, yes, because there’s a strong argument for contact-free measurement these days. Retailers are changing the way they think. The topic of digitalization is on customers’ minds, and our measurement technology is a part of that, of course. Mr. Piegsa actually approached me to ask about a measurement system.
From inquiry to installation – how quickly can we fulfill the request for measurement technology?
When customers express a general interest, we initially make an appointment to discuss details. We have a look at the measurement booth and work out where it would make sense to set up a unit. We explain how our technology can be connected to the retailer’s computer system. When everything is sorted, we finalize the contract. After that, it all goes quite quickly. Our colleagues from the Measurement Technology Department are always really fast when it comes to completing an installation at a medical retailer.
Do your medical retailers use the body scanners for supports as well?
Yes, especially when they think that the patient needs a custom-made solution. And they use our technology now in particular as it allows them to work without having to touch the patient, reducing the COVID-19 infection risk.
How do you support your customers once the measurement system is installed?
In my region, I also conducted all the training courses for the systems. That’s why the measurement technology manual was my bed-time reading for quite some time. But now, I’ve absorbed it all. I explain to the employees how the system works. Then each of them can carry out a measurement independently. I’m also at hand to advise and help when the first patients are measured. Otherwise, my customers can phone me. Two to three weeks after the installation, I will visit again, but everyone usually knows the ins and outs by then. In a way, the follow-up support is more complex than the preparation.
About Franziska Bube
From Bavaria to North Rhine-Westphalia: Franziska got married just before Christmas last year and moved to join her husband in North Rhine-Westphalia. This means that she’s also changing her sales region in the New Year: the qualified orthopedic technician now looks after Quality Partners and physicians in North Rhine-Westphalia. Whether in the South or West – what the 24-year-old loves about her job is that she can work with people and combine medicine with technology.
