Olympic torch relay

Italian and German colleagues represent Bauerfeind

Tears of joy, an Olympic atmosphere in the streets, and gratitude: Fabio Terazzi, Marcello Collini and Giuseppe Ricatti from Bauerfeind Italy and Bianka Giaquinto, regional sales manager in Germany, carried the Olympic torch for Bauerfeind. Here they report on their experiences.

What was the most memorable moment of your torch relay?

Fabio and Marcello: The most memorable moment was the instant we took the torch in our hands and fully grasped the symbolic meaning of what it represents. Feeling the warmth of the flame and seeing the people along the route was truly emotional. An intense experience that is hard to forget.

Bianka: The most memorable moment for me was when I received the torch and stood with it in front of hundreds of people, all wanting to take a picture. A little boy next to me looked at me with wide eyes, I took a picture with him and then tears of joy streamed down his face (and almost mine too…)

Guiseppe: The most memorable moment was when I was passing the Olympic flame to the next torchbearer. Some people recognized me and started saying my nickname in chorus, involving the entire audience.

What impression did you get of the Olympic atmosphere in Italy? What emotions did the relay evoke?

Fabio and Marcello: The Olympic atmosphere was engaging and authentic, marked by enthusiasm, pride, and strong participation. The relay conveyed a powerful sense of unity and shared purpose. We felt emotions of joy, responsibility, and gratitude.

Bianka: Proud! Proud to be a part of the Olympic Games!!! The Italians were also proud to host the Games in their country. We were approached and asked so many questions; it was an unforgettable experience, a lifelong dream has come true for me.

Giuseppe: The unique, almost magical atmosphere, then Rome, certainly made everything much more beautiful and exciting, for all the participants but especially for the audience. For me, the Olympics are perceived primarily as a moment of global brotherhood that goes beyond competitive sport.

With this impression, how will you follow the Olympic Games? Do you have a favorite sport or athlete?

Fabio and Marcello: As sports enthusiasts, we will follow every competition and every athlete with great interest. Naturally, we will pay special attention to the Italian athletes representing our country. A special good luck message will certainly go to Francesca Lollobrigida, to whom we wish all the best for this extraordinary Olympic journey.

Bianka: As a former luge athlete, I will of course be following the German team! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone there – no matter what, just being able to participate in the Olympics is a success for any athlete!

Giuseppe: I'm following the Olympics very closely, mostly on TV, but I'll be watching some of the competitions. My favorite athletes are: Federica Brignone, Giovanni Franzoni, and Federico Pellegrino.
