Impressions from the Olympic Village

Bauerfeind in Tokyo

Andreas Limbach, Dirk Schwager, Tobias Scheer and Mattis Hohmann (from left to right) thanking all those involved in the project in logistics, production and administration for their support that allowed smooth running of the polyclinic. The poster says: "Thank you for your support! Greetings from Tokyo."
Arrivals in Tokyo are Jörg Ritzerfeld, Olympics Project Manager (2nd from the left), and Maximilian Poetzschner (orthopedic shoemaker, 2nd from the right). On arrival they noticed: Many athletes were already wearing our compression stockings on the trip, for example German show jumpers as well as German marathon and long-distance runners who were on the plane. Expert orthotist Dirk Schwager (right) has been on location since July 17, and Masato Ikada (left), representing our distributor Pacific Supply, is also supporting the team and helping with interpretation.

Treatment of athletes is currently running at full steam. There have been many serious injuries, such as broken bones or injured ankles. Many athletes are suffering from common symptoms caused by excessive strain.

Also on the team are Marius Jonelis (center) and Slavica Lipovac (top right).

After initial difficulties, we can now also use our grinding machine. We had to organize a transformer first to make it work. Kanae Okawa took care of that with the help of our distributor in Tokyo.

Pacific Supply’s orthotist supported our team until July 26, then handed over to her colleague Masato Ikada.

Artistic gymnast Andreas Toba visited the polyclinic on July 27: “A few years ago, nobody believed that I could even make it back into the national team. And now, I’ve made it to the Olympic final with the German gymnastics team,” Andreas Toba reports with excitement.

The managing director of our distributor Pacific Supply, Kazuyuki Hasada, visited our team around project manager Jörg Ritzerfeld on Friday, July 30th, in the polyclinic. There they met Marie-Elaine Grant, a member of the medical commission of the International Olympic Committee.

Japan is known as the Land of the Rising Sun.

But the sunsets that our colleagues get to see on their way home are also amazing.
